Description: This class was designed for persons who experience Post Polio Syndrome to be used as an aid to implement their own exercise program. Techniques for increased range of motion, strength, endurance and relaxation are clearly shown.

CLASS : Breast Cancer Water Work

Description: This course assists participants to understand breast cancer patients, their symptoms, treatments and special needs. It also prepares students to design progressive aquatic programs including work for lymphedema patients. Proven techniques, risk management tools and resources are included.

Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students will:
  • Understand breast cancer, patient symptoms, effect of surgeries & medication, goals, and treatment plans
  • Know precautions and risk management techniques
  • Be able to design a progressive program and facilitate a group experience for breast cancer patients
  • Better understand lymphedema, effects, benefits of water

Description: This course provides state of the art information, re: FMS, research, symptoms, treatment plans, understanding psychosocial needs, class design, progression and insights into pain reduction techniques, muscular strength as management, application and resources are addressed.

Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students will:
  • Be better able to understand FMS, research, theories, chronic pain
  • Be familiar with psychosocial needs
  • View and implement progressive program development
  • Determine techniques for measurement of success and understand available resources.
